Character Building Years Every So Often
For people like me who take their growth game very seriously, I think you can agree that we all experience those character-building years every so often.
My growth periods are extremely messy, excruciatingly painful and testing.
These years are not pretty, but they are the most valuable. They strip away what is not needed and prepare you for whatever Allah is opening up next.
Two Episodes of Extreme Testing in 13 Years
For example, in the last 13 years, I have experienced at least 2 episodes of extremely challenging, testing years.
Each trial took me to an entirely evolved version of myself afterwards.
When I look back, each phase came with a specific lesson and a specific shift that I could not have reached without going through it. Allah uses these seasons to refine us, even when it does not feel that way in the moment.
Dubai Mirrors This Process
I believe this process reflects the essence of Dubai.
If you think about it, Dubai is a growth hub, so it would make sense that Dubai has to go through these extremely challenging periods every now and then to get to the next higher evolved version.

The city goes through its own growth cycles the same way we do. Each challenging phase clears the way for something stronger, more refined, and more aligned with what Allah is shaping it into.
