Why I Feel So Empowered and Secure Wearing Hijab and Surrendering to God?

Why do I feel so empowered and secure being fully covered and wearing hijab? When you sincerely embrace Islam, the point is that you fully surrender all of your trust and faith into God. Nothing is more important or valuable in this life than our connection to God.

Without Connection to God, We Are Nothing

Without our connection to God, we are nothing. We can’t be influential in leadership or business. We will not be able to maintain a healthy marriage or friendships. Insecurity repels people from you because people won’t be able to respect you.

If you attempt to build your base, your power and self-worth on anything external or material (e.g. good looks, money, success, a talent or skill, position), you have lost the game. None of those things was built to carry the weight of your identity.

Real Empowerment Has One Source

Empowerment and security can ONLY come from your trust, belief and faith in God. It cannot be borrowed from achievement, appearance, or applause. It cannot be manufactured by mindset alone. It can only come from surrender.

This is why I feel so empowered and secure being fully covered and wearing hijab. The hijab is not a limitation; it is an outward expression of where my real strength is anchored.

Be Careful of Shirk

In Islam, if you put your trust and faith in anything other than God, or put anyone above God, it is known as ‘shirk’ and it is a major sin — we need to be so careful and conscious about our shirks in life — (for our own good).

If you put any human above God, you will deep down be shaky in your belief, and you can not lead effectively or have real influence. The cracks always show eventually, because the foundation was never solid to begin with.

Understanding the Truth of Islam

Now I have discovered the truth of Islam, I am so grateful that I understand it on such a high level. I now understand why true Muslims are prepared to die for their faith (a lot of people who claim they are Muslim do not always understand the religion so I am not in any way agreeing to any wrong actions that happen to hurt people or cause major disruption).

I firmly believe that Islam is the only religion authorised by God (when practiced correctly). The more I get into Islam, I see that it is so true what is repeatedly written in the Quran. Most people don’t truly believe. If we say we believe, God will test us to prove it. If we look for protection anywhere but with Him, this is a major sin.

Only God Should Be Worshipped

This is why in Islam God strictly forbids us to worship any other human, even prophets or messengers. Only God should be worshipped because He is the only one who can save us in this life.

When we only fear God (in a healthy way), it protects us because we don’t fear any other human or situation. When you truly, truly believe, you know you are always secure and protected.

This is why I love wearing my Hijab, being fully covered and promoting Islam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does wearing hijab feel empowering rather than restrictive?

Because hijab is an outward expression of inward surrender to God. When your security comes from your connection to Allah rather than your appearance, hijab becomes a source of confidence rather than a limitation.

Why is real empowerment only possible through faith in God?

Because anything external — looks, money, success, position — is temporary and can be lost. Only trust, belief, and faith in God provide a foundation that cannot be shaken by changing circumstances.

What is shirk, and why is it so serious?

Shirk means putting your trust, faith, or worship in anything other than God, or placing anyone above Him. It is one of the major sins in Islam because it strikes at the core of belief, and it leaves the heart shaky and unstable.

Why does Islam forbid worshipping anyone other than God, even prophets?

Because only God can truly save us. Prophets and messengers were sent to deliver guidance, but worship belongs to Allah alone. Directing worship to anyone else compromises the foundation of true belief.

How does fearing only God bring protection?

When you fear only God in a healthy way, you stop fearing people, situations, and outcomes. That fear of Allah becomes a shield that frees you from worldly anxieties and gives you a deep, steady sense of security.
